Not $12 grand. That’s what I sold my 2005 forester XT for here in Subaru loving Utah when it was 6 years old with about that many miles.

I have that down to $12,250 OTD, which includes the 6.5% sales tax as well as title transfer and documentation fees. Texas loves it some regressive taxes...

That’s really about ballpark for a relatively low-mileage 3, they hold their value really well especially in areas without snow and salt.

And it’s one of the few cars that I can’t say anything bad about. I mean, the grin?

Rule of thumb, 5 year car at normal miles (12k per year is there) should be around 40% original sticker. Don’t know if 3s are desirable enough to swing the general rule.

I actually really like the smiley face too, not sure why people hate it. It’s a fun car, why can’t it look like one.

Auto? Not SKYACTIV? No thanks.

True. But my wife’s one criteria is that my DD be an auto so she can drive it. Truthfully, traffic sucks so badly here that I no longer want a manual. Too exhausting. MOstly too annoying. Did it for 10 years and I’m sick of the 7 MPH average bumper to bumper BS I deal with every day.
And I just can’t afford a 2012 or newer, (even though the 3 wasn’t technically 100% Skyactiv until 2013). Regardless it’s consistently the best reviewed car in its segment, and this one has all the amenities to smooth out the craptacular commute I have to deal with.

Seems pretty reasonable to me, with leather and moon roof. To put it in perspective, I paid 12,500 for a 2006 Mazda 3i touring in 2009, it had 24,000 miles on it and it was a “good deal” then.

Its right in line, price wise. I ran the VIN and there’s ZERO dealer history though. That scares me, as does the lack of service records on the Carfax.
The Bose and moonroof package add some niceness to it though.

My gf loves her 2012 and I love my 2015 (both skyactiv touring)

Dealer history... I’m not buying jack without at least one thorough pre-purchase inspection.

Like: Warranty repairs, oil changes, maintenance, etc. Looks like they bought it, and never came back. Which is a GOOD thing, that nothing major went wrong that required a trip., but bad (in my eyes) that there hasn’t been a certified Mazda tech to put hands on it to find anything wrong that a regular shop or owner would miss.

I’d likely take it to the Mazda dealer or a shop with a certified Mazda tech. It Houston. The 4th largest city in the US. Gotta be somebody!

I’d sure hope so.
